How to start in 2010

What shall you do as a Stock Trend Investor now in January 2010 when all stock market indices have increased like they did in December 2009? It depends.

Stock Trend Investors do not only look at the last month but also at what happened during the previous months. We are looking at trends that last for months and not just at what happens during an individual month. So, what are our conclusions on how to start in 2010?

Positive trend

For all eleven stock market indices that are currently covered by the Stock Trend Investing system, the trend is positive, except for the Japanese Nikkei index. This positive trend indication from our system means that we give the scenario where the stock market indices will continue to increase over the next few months the highest probability.

In other words, depending on their personal situation, Stock Trend Investors are advised to hold on to or to increase their investments in funds that are following the market indices that we are covering. Investors in the Nikkei index are not advised to increase their holdings.

Some correction warnings with low probability

For the Dutch AEX, the Hong Kong Hang Seng Index and for the Indian Sensex index, our system issues the warning that the positive trend could be interrupted by a temporary correction. If such a correction would happen, it would be the result of the extra steep growth of these indices during the last half year.

The Sensex has continuously defied these warnings, so it is seen as one with a low probability. Looking at the positive trend in the other indices and taking into account that the indices in general rise, fall and correct in sync, also these other two correction warnings are seen as low-probability ones.

In summary, our system tells us that a continuation of the positive trend is at this moment the most likely scenario for the coming months.
